Welcome to Wolf Creek (Alpha Lumberjacks Book 1) Page 4
“Laurie, I know Easton is a good man. Everyone in this town can’t shut up about how good he is.” Her eyes drop to her fidgeting hands. “I think I was more jealous of him taking my best friend away,” she admits.
“You are never going to lose me. You’re my best friend. You can be a real pain in the ass, but I still love you.” I step out onto the porch and wrap my arms around her.
She links her arms around my waist and squeezes me tight. “I’m sorry, Laurie. I really am happy for you. I’m just going to miss you like crazy.”
“I guess you’ll just have to move here,” I suggest. Josie hates LA just as much as I do. We both could use a fresh start.
“I’m so glad you said that, because I already quit my job and packed up my apartment.”
“You sneaky bitch.” I push back and slap her arm.
“Living in LA just wouldn’t be the same without you. Besides, I kind of like this sleepy little town.”
“Why do I have a feeling another part of your decision to move here has to do with Lucas.” I cock an eyebrow up at her. During Christmas dinner at Malinda’s, I overheard Lucas talking about Josie to Aaron, telling him how crazy he is about her.
“If I were to run into him, repeatedly with my vagina, that wouldn’t be such a bad thing.” Her cheeks turn a bright shade of red. Oh my God, Josie actually likes a guy.
“Josie, do you like Lucas?”
“Maybe,” she says fighting back a smile.
I playfully smack her ass. “Get your ass in here and tell me everything.”
Chapter Eleven
Easton
Ten Months Later
I pace outside the operating room, anxiously waiting for the nurse to come out and get me. My heart sank in my chest when the words C-section came out of the doctor’s mouth. I know he performs this surgery every day, but it’s my wife he will be operating on, and I don’t want anything to happen to her or our son. They are my life. But little Andrew is hell bent on coming out ass first and, in order to keep them both safe, this is our only option.
I can remember the day she told me she was pregnant like it was yesterday. I was working on the expansion for the reading room when she walked in wearing the biggest damn smile on her face and holding the little white stick up for me to see. I dropped to my knees in front of her and thanked God for bringing this beautiful angel into my life and for the baby growing in her inside her. I knew my boys had it in them. Barely a month together and she was already carrying my baby. We got married a week later.
Laurie has fit right in with the town and my family, like she was always meant to be here with me. Her bookstore and café are thriving. I’ve never seen the town so excited for books in my life. Even the roughest of the guys on my crew are reading. It’s hilarious and wonderful.
The nurse peeks her head out from the operating room door. “Mr. Dylan, we are ready for you now.” She opens the door and guides me to a small stool next to Laurie. It pains my heart to see her laid out on the operating table. I take my seat next to her and kiss her forehead.
“It’s going to be okay Easton. Andrew and I are going to be just fine.” Here she is, about to get cut open, and she’s comforting me. My sweet Laurie, still taking care of everyone else. Now it’s my turn to take care of her.

I sit in a rocking chair holding my son in my arms while Laurie sleeps in the bed next to us. The surgery went off without a hitch. Laurie was strong through the whole thing. Our son is perfect and healthy. I can’t believe he’s ours. The picture I’ve had in my head with Laurie and our life together is now complete with Andrew.
Watching my son sleeping in my arms, I decide he’s the perfect combination of the two of us, with Laurie’s nose and my eyes. He’s the most beautiful baby I have ever laid eyes on. I love him so much my heart feels like it could burst from my chest.
“Just when I thought you couldn’t get any sexier, you have to look so fine holding our son.” Laurie tiredly smiles. “We may have to keep having babies just so I can wake up to that view every day.”
“If they are anything like this little guy, I will give you a million babies.” I return her smile.
“Maybe not a million. Let’s start out with four and see how it goes. It’s time for Little Man to eat.”
I get up from the chair and lay Andrew in her arms. While Andrew nurses, Laurie looks up at me with tears streaming down her face.
“Angel, why are you crying?” I kneel next to the bed and wipe her tears.
“Thank you.” She sniffles. “Thank you for making all my dreams come true, for keeping your promises and for loving me.”
“I’m the one who should be thanking you.” I press my lips to her temple. “I love you so much.” I lean over and kiss the top of Andrew’s head. “I love you too, Little Man.”

Six Years Later
“Mommy, Daddy, where are you?” Nathan calls from outside the bathroom door. Easton covers my mouth as I come, the shower helps muffle my screams as my orgasm rocks my body. With three curious little boys in the house, Easton and I have had to get creative when we need a little mommy and daddy time. Closets, the shower, and the back of Easton’s truck have become our go to fuck places. I’ll take Easton any way I can get him.
“We’ll be right out, buddy. Go downstairs with your brother and finish breakfast,” Easton calls back. His attention turns back to me. “That should buy us ten more minutes.” He sucks my nipple into his mouth and lazily thrusts in and out of my still pulsing pussy.
The past six years have been a wild ride, but a damn good one. After Andrew was born, Easton cut back his time at the mill so he could spend more time with us. Which was good, because a year later Nathan came along, and soon after that, Chase arrived. We’ve had our hands full, but we have loved every exhausted minute of it. I’m surrounded by testosterone, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love all my boys and the little girl growing inside me. Easton has made my every dream come true. He loves me unconditionally and that’s more than I could ever ask for.
